The Written Test
The Written Test consists of 100 Multiple Choice questions. These 100 questions are divided into 4 different Bands. (25 questions per band) The pass mark is 85% however, you must not get anything less than 20 questions correct in anyone band. Various topics are covered in each band.

The Hazard Perception Test
This is new to the test and consists of you watching a computer screen as if you are driving a car. As soon as you notice what may be a hazard you must click the mouse.
The Driving Test
The Driving Test consists of 4 areas:-
- Town Driving
- Country Driving
- Motorway Driving
- Manoeuvres
You have to drive in an efficient brisk business-like manner for approximately 1 hour. All 4 topics are covered in this time. The training consists of losing bad habits that you may have and from then on polishing up on your driving so that you can do a near perfect drive. The amount of tuition given on this part is 15 hours. When you have passed the Driving test you are entitled to apply (not compulsory) for a Trainee Licence (PDI Licence) to give instruction to learner drivers for payment. If you do apply for this Licence it lasts for 6 months. This will give you experience in preparation for the Instructional Ability Test (part 3).
The Driving Vehicle Standards Agency rules and conditions are that a maximum of 3 attempts are allowed on this part.
The Instructional Ability Test
The object of the test is for you to show your ability on how to pass your knowledge on to a learner driver up to a fully qualified driver and be understood. The standard of the learner driver can range from absolute beginner to test standard drivers. The training consists of 40 hours in car tuition over a period of time of your choice. Once you have passed this test you are then a fully Qualified Driving Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor. And you are now a professional person who has a licence to earn as much money as you choose for as many years as you want. The Driving Vehicle Standards Agency rules and conditions are that a maximum of 3 attempts are allowed on part 3.
